Intel to bring in GHz, funk for 2004

— 12:06 PM on November 21, 2003

Ok, so I lied about the funk. However, The Register is reporting that Intel expects its 0.09-micron Prescott processors to hit 4GHz in 2004. The 4GHz chip will apparently debut in Q4 of next year, preceded by 3.8 and 3.6GHz chips in Q3 and Q2, respectively. Intel also expects to transition its Celeron line to a 0.09-micron manufacturing process next year.
