Wal Mart to offer discount online music

— 12:36 PM on December 18, 2003

It looks like Wal Mart wants to be the low-cost leader in the online music business: N|Net has confirmed that Wal Mart's music store will sell tracks for only $0.88 each. Wal Mart is working with Liquid Digital Media, whose song catalog contains over 300,000 tracks from more than 17,000 different artists. The music store will be run as an extension of its current web site, which hawks everything from PCs to dishwashers.
