ATI releases Catalyst 4.1 drivers

— 2:14 PM on January 19, 2004

You can grab the brand-new drivers for Win2K and XP here. ATI says this release is primarily about stability and compatibility, not performance enhancements. However, ATI's driver developers have cooked up a couple of nice additions, including an improved Overdrive auto-overclocking function. This new rev "now provides the user with more information on the temperature and frequency of their graphics processor," according to the release notes. The other change is improved support for GLSL, the OpenGL Shading Language, now that the final GLSL specs have been ratified.

The list of game fixes includes a number of titles. Among them: Halo, Knights of the Old Republic, Nascar Racing 2003, Neverwinter Nights, and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4.
