Northwood scales to 3.4GHz

As the enthusiast community waits for Intel to unwrap its Prescott Pentium 4 processor, the chip giant has quietly released a Northwood Pentium 4 running at 3.4GHz. GamePC has a full review of what could be the end of the line for the Pentium 4's Northwood core, and the chip certainly goes out in style. GamePC was even able to overclock their processor to an impressive 3.85GHz with little more than a voltage tweak and Intel's stock heat sink—not bad for a core that's about to be replaced.
