ATI partners fudge Overdrive support

— 3:12 PM on February 4, 2004

Though Overdrive is a key feature of ATI's Radeon 9600 XT graphics card, it seems that some of the firm's partners are shipping 9600 XT cards that aren't compatible with the automatic overclocking technology. According to this story over at The Inquirer, PowerColor's Radeon 9600 XT doesn't have the necessary temperature monitoring hardware to work with Overdrive. Apparently, a number of 9600 XT cards produced by Asus, Club3D, GeXCube, Hercules, and Sapphire also lack Overdrive support, but all of ATI and Gigabyte's XT cards support the feature.
