Obsolete technology refuses to die

Technology Review is running an interesting story on ten technologies that refuse to die. The article covers everything from simple analog watches to big iron mainframes, but perhaps the most poignant comment is made on typewriters:

One Seattle typewriter repairman says that aging writers who “prefer simplicity and don’t want to learn computers” are what keep him in business. And you needn’t worry about your system going obsolete if it already is.
