Corsair announces DDR2 memory modules

— 12:43 PM on February 18, 2004

The DDR2 march is beginning early, as the folks at Corsair have already taken the first step by announcing new DDR2 memory modules for upcoming DDR2 motherboards. These first DDR2 modules start at 533MHz and come in matched pairs for use with dual-channel memory controllers. Corsair says they have 240 pins and support "JEDEC standard 4-4-4-12 latencies."

Interestingly, Corsair expects the modules to be available starting in March, a month ahead of the expected release date of Intel's DDR2-capable chipsets. Could Intel be pushing up its schedule, or are VIA and SiS ready to jump first?
