ATI has released Catalyst 4.3 drivers for its Radeon graphics line. The driver release notes indicate that ATI's three-screen SURROUNDVIEW multimonitor functionality is now available for Radeon 9800, 9600, 9500, 9200, and 9000 series graphics cards when used with motherboards based on ATI's Radeon 9100 IGP chipset. Curiously, ATI's Radeon 9700 and 9100 series graphics cards don't appear on the SURROUNDVIEW compatibility list.
The Catalyst 4.3 drivers apparently yield a considerable improvement in pixel shader performance for DirectX 9-class products, and also fix a number of known issues. Thanks to #techreport regular Tuna for the tip.
