If you are interested in the nuts-and-bolts of Athlon overclocking, don't miss this article on modifying the Athlon's L2 cache control resistors. Personally, I'd go with a GF card like the Advanced POW!er Boost or Northwind 2.0 that allows L2 cache control, but they all involve some degree of modification the Athlon PCB, so this article should be worth a look, regardless.
