TR reader Xylker noticed that the Athlon 64 2800+ is now available at Newegg for a steal. The chip is an Athlon 64 that runs at 1.8GHz with a 512K L2 cache, and it's currently listed at $173 for the OEM version. The previous 64-bit value leader, the Athlon 64 3000+, is listed at $211.
You can see our review of the A64 3000+ here. I'd expect the 2800+ to perform very well for its price, as well.
