Worm targets P2P providers

It looks like the latest Netsky worm variant is targeting P2P-related web sites including those run by Sharman Networks and eDonkey. The worm doesn't appear to be disrupting P2P network traffic, but it's affecting access to web sites where users can download client software.

While a worm attacking specific web sites is nothing new, it's interesting to see P2P networks victimized in such an attack. There doesn't seem to be any reason for virus writers to target P2P networks, which is sure to spawn all sorts of conspiracy theories.
