Cornice offers tiny 2GB drive for portable devices

Xbit Labs is reporting that Cornice has bumped the capacity of its miniature "Storage Element" hard drives up to 2GB. Touted as durable and low-cost storage for portable media players, gaming devices, and digital cameras, the Storage Element disks measure only 43mm x 36mm x 5mm and weigh less than 15 grams. Power consumption is low, too. The drives consume as little as four milliwatts under typical audio playback loads.

In addition to the new 2GB model, Storage Element drives are also available in 1GB and 1.5GB capacities. In fact, a USB "flash" drive that uses the 1.5GB disk is already available from Best Buy.
