IM providers take first step to interoperability

The big three providers of instant messaging services have announced plans to work together on a multi-network client solution. Microsoft will provide the server software, and corporations will be able to pay a fee for access to all three networks. Unfortunately, the plans so far only encompass corporate IM solutions, but it does offer a glimmer of hope for wider interoperability. Until that glorious day comes, of course, there's always Trillian.
