Alienware aims for wider PC market

— 10:41 AM on July 20, 2004

The folks at Alienware apparently aren't content with just a healthy slice of the high-end gaming PC market. They've just announced their intention to expand their business into broader PC segments, including workstations, corporate PCs, and (the big money's here) government contracts. To that end, the company is introducing a number of new product lines, including mobile and stationary workstations, corporate desktops, and ultra-light laptops. All of the systems are based on Intel processors, with nary an AMD in sight. I'll be interested to see whether the company can win government accounts with system names like "Alienware Bot."
