Weekend forum roundup

— 6:54 PM on July 31, 2004

July is almost over, and that only means one thing this year: Doom III is almost here. So while you wait, drop by the forums to keep you busy before then. Here are a few topics to get you started. As always, send me an e-mail if there is a thread that needs mentioning.

TR Fantasy Football — The TR Fantasy Football league has been created and even has its own sub-forum. Be sure to talk to idchafee about signing up. This forum won't be entirely for football, and there are plans to have other fantasy sports leagues.

Fiber worth it? — There is a good discussion going on about the benefits and drawbacks (mainly the drawbacks) of going all fiber for a home network.

Interesting AI web page — Hawkwing74 found a web page that has an ALICE implementation, and there seems to be a running contest in the thread to see who can get the bot to say the craziest things.

Easy to use software for creating a web site/pages? — lex-ington is looking for ideas on software for creating a web page. Dive in and discuss the merits of hand coding versus using software like Dreamweaver and Frontpage. He's also looking for ideas on how to allow only specific people to access files through his web site.

More changes to Star Wars Original Trilogy by Lucas for DVD — Earlier this week, there was some discussion on changes to Star Wars for the upcoming DVD release. The are a large number of predicted possible changes, and it will be interesting to see how many of them come true.
