ATI offers integrated graphics-less RX330 chipset

— 3:49 AM on September 20, 2004

It looks like ATI has quietly released a Pentium 4 core logic chipset that lacks integrated graphics. Xbit Labs noticed that Gigabyte's GA-8TRX330-L motherboard uses an ATI RX330 chipset. The chipset, which is tucked away on ATI's web site, is billed as the "most powerful chipset for cost effective solutions." When paired with ATI's new SB300 south bridge, the RX330 boasts an 800MHz front-side bus, AGP 8X interface, dual-channel DDR400 memory controller, eight USB 2.0 ports, two Serial ATA/150 ports, two ATA/100 channels, and an integrated 3Com Ethernet controller.
