Napster: Ain't nothin' but a lawyer thang

— 12:23 AM on April 27, 2000

So says rap artist Dr. Dre, who became the second artist after Metallica to sue the software company for copyright infringement, according to this article. He's seeking damages of around $10 million, and wants the software shut down.

The article points out an interesting twist that I thought was pretty damn funny; last week, Dre was sued for copyright infringement. It seems that he used Lucasfilms' famed THX sound to start off his latest album after he asked for permission to do so and was denied. There's no shortage of irony in the legal system.
