High-end graphics waiting on GDDR3?

— 4:52 AM on October 11, 2004

The Inquirer is running an interesting article suggesting that limited GDDR3 supplies are to blame for the scarcity of ATI and NVIDIA's latest high-end graphics cards. Since their respective launches months ago, Radeon X800 XT Platinum Edition and GeForce 6800 Ultra cards have been rare in the wild. Both cards require GDDR3 memory chips capable of running at 550MHz or faster.
