Netscape 10-year anniversary celebrated
It's been 10 years since the first version of the Netscape browser was released, and News.com has put together a little retrospective titled "Bowed but not broken" about the browser's long and troubled life. The lead article offers a nice synopsis of Netscape's history and current (rather sad) state, including the news that AOL is planning a new version of Netscape and a renewed marketing push. Details about the new browser are sketchy, but the story says it won't be based on Internet Explorer like AOL's other effort. Seems like it's too little, too late to me, though.
