GNU GPL not Y2K-compliant
Segfault.org has this news
story about a major oversite in the GNU GPL. Apparently, analysts at
the FSF verified the issue but downplayed it saying it was not related
to the core parts of the GPL. There is no way yet to determine the exact
implications of this discovery. From the article:
However, an independent study, funded by Microsoft, claims that
this could be the end of almost all free software, as even the Linux
kernel has the GNU GPL license file included with it.
On a more positive note, userfriendly.org is making great
advances in its informal studies of the correlation of Internet use
and subscriber intelligence.
