ATI dispenses double dose of eye candy

— 8:57 PM on December 2, 2004

To coincide with the arrival of the Radeon X850 XT, ATI has released a new movie featuring its signature digital babe. This episode, entitled Dangerous Curves, is available for download or viewing in MPEG format here. Again, this stuff is rendered in real time on the graphics chip. You can also go to this page on ATI's site for a higher quality Quicktime version of the movie or the full 147MB executable demo, which I'd expect to run OK on any X800-series Radeon.

ATI has also teamed up with CryTek, the makers of Far Cry, to produce a tech demo using the Far Cry engine. This one ran for me on a GeForce 6800 GT, but it didn't look 100% right. Runs better on the Radeon X850 XT PE. Either way, this demo uses higher poly models and more cinematic effects than the Far Cry game, nicely showing off what the engine can do—with a fast graphics card.
