VIA demos mobo with AGP, PCI-E graphics

— 3:10 PM on December 9, 2004

VIA's John Gatt has posted some interesting pictures of new chipset running AGP and PCI Express graphics cards at the same time. The system was configured with a monitor hooked up to each graphics card and was capable of not only running independent 3D apps on each monitor, but also a single application that spanned both monitors. SLI probably won't be a possibility, but with the new chipset also offering support for both DDR and DDR2, it looks like an intriguing upgrade platform. The new chipset, which is presumably the PT890, will apparently be available in January or February of next year.
