WinBeta has revealed that Windows XP x64 build 1433, otherwise known as Release Candidate 2, has been unleashed on beta testers. Several sites are reporting that XP x64 will also be released to the general public as a part of Microsoft's customer preview program, but that hasn't happened yet. At press time, the latest publicly-available version of XP x64 is build 1289, or Release Candidate 1.
Regardless of when it will be available through the customer preview program, the fact that Microsoft has reached the RC2 milestone suggests that XP x64 is almost ready for release. And there was much rejoicing.
