AMD announces mini-ITX motherboard

AMD has announced the availability of its Geode NX DB1500 development board and reference design. The board features an SIS 741CX north bridge coupled to a 964 south bridge in a miniscule mini-ITX form factor. Officially, it's designed to support AMD Geode NX processors, but the NXs are based on the K7 architecture and utilize a Socket A form factor. Theoretically, the board might operate with Athlon processors, but AMD makes no mention of compatibility. The DB1500 will cost $599 per unit and is available now.
