Intel's 65-nano Cedar Mill to bring lower TDP

— 10:46 AM on April 12, 2005

X86-secret is reporting (in French, bring a translator) that Intel's upcoming "Cedar Mill" processor will have an 86W TDP—19W lower than current Prescott processors. According to the article, Cedar Mill is a "quasi-identical" version of Intel's existing Pentium 4 6xx series that will be built using 65-nano fabrication technology. There's no word on whether the 86W TDP applies to single- or dual-core chips, though.
