End of mainstream Windows 2000 support approaching

— 2:51 AM on April 25, 2005

eWeek has a handy reminder that Microsoft will end mainstream support for Windows 2000 on June 30 of this year. After June 30, users will have to pay for patches and hotfixes that aren't security-related. However, Microsoft will continue to offer security-related hotfixes through March 31, 2010. That leaves plenty of time to upgrade to Windows XP, or perhaps by then, Longhorn.
