NVIDIA integrated graphics chipset on the way

— 2:19 AM on May 11, 2005

When NVIDIA first announced its GeForce 6 series, it claimed that the architecture could scale all the way down to integrated graphics chipsets. NVIDIA may finally be preparing to release such a chipset. DigiTimes is reporting that NVIDIA is readying two integrated graphics chipsets for the K8 platform, one for Socket 754 and another for Socket 939. Both will apparently support PCI Express, but each will have a different graphics core. The chipsets will supposedly debut in the third quarter of this year. At the same time, NVIDIA is expected to discount SLI chipset prices by up to $30.
