Dell offers dual-core Extreme Edition workstation

Dell is now offering Intel's dual-core Pentium 840 Extreme Edition processor in its Precision 380 workstation. Upgrading from the system's base Pentium 4 531 3.0GHz processor to the Extreme Edition will cost users a cool $1230—over $200 more than the Intel's listed price for the chip. You'll also have to wait more than a month for the system; the estimated ship date for Precision 380 systems is currently June 23. To be fair, that estimated ship date applies to all Precision 380 systems, regardless of whether they include a Pentium 840 EE.
