PhysX add-in card pricing announced

Xbit Labs is reporting that AGEIA has set pricing on its PhysX add-in cards. The cards will cost between $249 and $299. AGEIA expects to be sampling in third quarter with expected retail availability in fourth quarter. Games supporting the PhysX processor should also arrive later this year, most likely around the same time boards become available. The Xbit Labs story also reveals details on the PhysX chip itself.

The PhysX chip will be manufactured with 0.13 micron technology at TSMC, and the die will host 125 million transistors, which is larger than that of mainstream graphics processing units, such as ATI RADEON X700.
Early photos suggest that boards will have a PCI interface, use active cooling, and require auxiliary power through a four-pin Molex power connector.
