Designed for notebook, tablet, and other mobile applications, the solid state drives are available in capacities up to 16GB. With no moving parts, they're quieter and consume less power than comparable drives. According to Samsung, the drives also offer up to 50% higher transfer rates. Samsung will make the solid state drives available 1.8" drives available in 4GB and 8GB capacities, and 2.5" drives available in 8GB and 16GB capacities, although there's no word yet on pricing.
