Willamette meets Pikachu

— 12:31 AM on June 21, 2000

FullOn3D has some supposed benchmarks up from the Intel Willamette. I say supposed only because they got them from a third party and can't guarantee they're for real. Looking at the pictures and screenshots, it all looks fairly legitimate to me, anyway.

The guy that took the pics stuck a Pikachu doll next to the processor, ostensibly to prove that the pics weren't fake. How this establishes authenticity eludes me ("Dude, Pikachu would NEVER pose next to a fake Willamette!"), but there it is. At the moment, performance is all over the map (it is a pre-release CPU after all) with the memory benchmarks off the scale while integer and floating point.... need more work. Anyway, they have a complete Sandra benchmark run, so go check it out.
