DeltaChrome surfaces in VIA K8M890 IGP

— 2:07 AM on October 17, 2005

HKEPC has a first look (in Chinese, bring a translator) at VIA's new K8M890 integrated graphics chipset. Unlike VIA's previous IGPs, which have been based on the ancient UniChrome graphics core, the K8M890's integrated graphics are based on DirectX 9-class DeltaChrome technology. Unfortunately, DeltaChrome looks about as potent in an IGP as it did on the desktop; the K8M890 graphics performance is easily outclassed by ATI's Radeon Xpress 200 and GeForce 6100 series.
