Yonah shipping clock speeds revealed

— 1:40 PM on November 17, 2005

The Inquirer has news of Yonah's shipping clock speeds and projected pricing. Intel's new 65nm CPU will debut at frequencies of up to 2.16GHz on a 667MHz front-side bus. The majority of Yonah chips appear to be dual-core designs, though there is one mainstream single-core part listed, and there are apparently several Ultra Low Voltage (ULV) single-core products planned.

The previous-gen Dothan's excellent performance and low thermal output will make it a tough act to follow, and AMD's new Turion, while still a newcomer, marks the first real competition Intel has faced in the mobile market for years. It'll be interesting to see how Turion performs compared to both of these solutions, and how AMD's dual-core Turion matches up once it arrives.
