Asus set to introduce overclocked Radeon X1800 XT

Factory overclocking is all the rage among NVIDIA's graphics card partners, and the trend is spreading. DigiTimes is reporting that Asus's overclocked-in-the-box Radeon X1800 XT will arrive this month. The EAX1800XT TOP will run at 700MHz core and 1.6GHz memory, a healthy boost over the Radeon X1800 XT's stock 625MHz core and 1.5GHz memory clocks. Those clock speeds won't allow the card to match the GeForce 7800 GTX 512's multitexturing fill rate or memory bandwidth, but improved performance should differentiate the card from other Radeon X1800 XTs on the market. That differentiation will likely come with a higher price tag, although there's no word on how much the card will cost at this time. Radeon X1800 XTs are currently selling for around $570 online, with the GeForce 7800 GTX 512 running close to $760.
