GeCube brings Radeon X1300, X1600 to AGP

GeCube has announced that it will offer AGP versions of ATI's Radeon X1300 and X1600 Pro graphics products. Cards will presumably use the same bridge chip that allowed ATI to bring its Radeon X800 XL to AGP. Unfortunately, there's no mention of AGP variants of the Radeon X1600 XT, or any member of the Radeon X1800 series.

The fact that Radeon X1000 products are being ported to AGP at all suggests that there are no technical limitations that would prevent one of ATI's partners from bringing a high-end X1800 to AGP. However, there has been much debate over how many of those with AGP systems would actually be willing to sink several hundred dollars into a high-end upgrade for a graphics standard that's on the way out. Graphics card makers would also need to see a large enough potential market to justify expending the resources needed to design and produce an AGP X1800.
