Intel priming deep Pentium 900-series price cuts

— 2:14 AM on February 14, 2006

DigiTimes is reporting that Intel has scheduled some massive price cuts for its dual-core, 65-nano processors. The cuts will apparently take effect on April 23, and slash prices by up to 50%. The Pentium 950 gets the biggest cut, dropping in price from $637 to just $316. It looks like Intel is preparing to phase out the 2.8GHz Pentium 920, as well. That chip's price will fall to just $209, a price that will be matched by the 3.0GHz Pentium 930.
