Intel to launch platform for business desktops

First came Centrino, then VIIV, and now Intel looks primed to launch a platform for business desktops dubbed Averill. DigiTimes is reporting that Intel will roll out Averill Pro and Averill Fundamental platforms by the third quarter of the year. The former will apparently include a dual-core Conroe processor and Q965 chipset, while the latter will settle for a Pentium D and Q963 core logic. Vista is expected to be supported by both, so those chipsets may include an integrated graphics core capable of handling the Aero Glass interface.
