DigiTimes is reporting that Silicon Integrated Systems, more commonly known as SiS, has created a new system memory division. The company will produce DDR and DDR2 DIMMs and SODIMMs with speeds ranging from DDR400 to DDR2-800, and plans to start shipping products in the second half of this year. SiS will reportedly rely on parent company UMC's affiliates for production capability and manpower.
