Google contemplating online storage service
Internal documents accidentally leaked on Google's investor relations site suggest that the company is preparing to offer an online storage service. Yahoo! News has the scoop:
"With infinite storage, we can house all user files, including emails, web history, pictures, bookmarks, etc and make it accessible from anywhere (any device, any platform, etc)," the notes in the original Google presentation state.
If paired with sufficiently fast Internet connections, this service could also provide users with off-site backups. A Google spokeswoman contacted by Yahoo! News declined to comment on the possible service, but she did confirm that internal documents had indeed been made available by mistake on the company's website.
