— 7:16 PM on March 7, 2006

Engadget is reporting that Intel has revealed on a new type of product called the Ultra Mobile PC, or UMPC for short. The image on Intel's site bears an uncanny resemblance to the leaked pictures of the Microsoft Origami device, and Intel is expected to reveal more information on March 9—the same day Microsoft will take the wraps off the Origami. The Intel page also includes details about the device(s), including their ability to provide "uncompromised" internet access and personalized information based on a user's location, interact with other devices, and support multiple wireless connection protocols.
