Conroe performance re-examined

— 12:15 PM on March 9, 2006

Following criticisms of its first Conroe performance preview, AnandTech has run the tests again, this time with an updated BIOS, tweaked memory timings, and its own Quake 4 demo. An error was also corrected in the F.E.A.R. tests, where AnandTech had inadvertently configured the AMD system with a higher resolution. The revamped performance charts seem to show more balanced results, with only the DivX 6.1 test giving Conroe a performance advantage greater than 31%, and the rest of the benchmarks averaging an advantage of 22.5%.
