VIA launches new Mini-ITX boards

— 6:55 PM on March 13, 2006

VIA has launched a new line of EPIA EN-series Mini-ITX motherboards. The new boards feature either a VIA C7 or Eden processor—both based on VIA's new 90nm process—along with the VIA CN700 integrated graphics chipset, which supports 1080i and 720p HDTV output. The boards also support up to 1GB of DDR2-533 memory, 300MB/s Serial ATA RAID, FireWire, Gigabit Ethernet, and VIA's PadLock Security Engine. VIA claims EPIA EN systems can fit in a power envelope of just 21W, which should enable small and quiet home theater PCs.
