AMD's Henri Richard interviewed, part three

— 10:52 AM on March 15, 2006

DigiTimes has published the third part of its interview with AMD's Henri Richard. This time, Richard talks about AMD Live!, Intel Viiv, and the role of the PC in the living room. Richard says he doesn't believe in Intel's idea of the media-center PC as "center of your living room," claiming that "it doesn't need to be there for a variety of reasons", including space and noise. AMD's approach of non-disruptively integrating the media-center PC into a network of existing entertainment devices is more sensible, according to Richard. He also says that willing to partner up with "local players" and having an open platform, rather than "trying to lock up everything into a single solution", is crucial to globalization efforts.
