Quad SLI to work on existing nForce4 SLI boards

— 1:40 AM on March 17, 2006

The Inquirer claims that NVIDIA's recently-launched Quad SLI technology works in regular nForce4 SLI motherboards. Quad SLI has already been demonstrated on the nForce4 SLI X16 chipset, but it will apparently offer adequate performance with EVGA's microATX SLI motherboard, which uses the plain old nForce4 SLI. NVIDIA launched Quad SLI last week, but only in "top system builder" ODM PCs such as Maingear's $7,566 BEAST SLI system. Those who wish to upgrade their current systems to Quad SLI will likely have to set aside a large pile of cash, as well, especially considering Quad SLI's estimated requirement of an 800-1000W power supply.
