HKEPC tests GeForce 7600 GS

China's HKEPC (in Chinese, translate here) managed to get its hands on a newly-released GeForce 7600 GS graphics card. The 7600 GS was tested against the Radeon X1600 XT in a variety of games, and surprisingly managed to get the upper hand in nearly all of them. Only in F.E.A.R. and a handful of 3DMark tests does the Radeon come out on top. Not content with testing a single card, HKEPC also ran some tests with two 7600 GSes in SLI against a CrossFire X1600 XT setup. While the 7300 GSes outperform the X1600 XTs, we should point out that the near-$300 price tag for either setup would likely be much better spent on a single 7900 GT.

Aside from performance benchmarks, HKEPC also tested the 7600 GS' passive heatsink, which managed to keep GPU under 70°C at full load. HKEPC also probed the card's overclocking potential, and managed to hit a core clock of 505MHz, a cool 26% increase from the stock 400MHz. NVIDIA appears to have hit its hard launch target, as well, with a couple of 7600 GS cards already in stock at Newegg.
