Friday night topic: Deadly self-defense?

States have begun passing laws to allow citizens to defend themselves from intruders and attackers using deadly force. Good idea or not? Should folks be immune from prosecution if they kill an intruder in their homes? What about in more public places, if they're being mugged or carjacked? What limits should we place on such things? Discuss.
