Merom pricing revealed
HKEPC (in Chinese, bring a translator) managed to snag some pricing information for Merom, Intel's upcoming 64-bit successor to its current Core Duo processors. The T5500 and T5600 Meroms will feature 2MB of cache, be clocked at 1.66 and 1.83GHz, and should be priced at $209 and $241, respectively. Meanwhile, the T7200, T7400, and T7600 will sport 4MB of cache,
clock speeds of 2.0, 2.16, and 2.33GHz, and prices of $294, $423, and $637. The chips are rated for a 35W power envelope, and will push bits through a 667MHz front-side bus. Interestingly, the Intel roadmap also shows three "to be determined" 800MHz FSB offerings, two of which labeled as "low voltage."
Speaking of low voltage, the roadmap also shows an ultra low voltage U7500 chip with a clock speed of 1.06GHz, 2MB of cache, and a 533MHz front-side bus. The chip will apparently have a 15W TDP, but won't launch until January 2007 at an undisclosed price. In contrast, the standard voltage T5000- and T7000-series chips are expected in the fourth quarter of this year.
