There has been some speculation on investor messageboards about NVIDIA buying the remains of Aureal, and word seems to have found its way to some of the hardware sites this past week. Curious about this prospect, we asked NVIDIA what the deal is:
TR: Any truth to rumors NVIDIA is buying what's left of Aureal? Are there negotiations going on now?Ah, well. I'm still no big fan of Creative's sound cards (and their drivers); hope somebody buys up Aureal and breathes some life into the corpse before it's too late.
If so, how would the purchase affect NVIDIA's relationship with Creative?
NVIDIA: This is all rumour. Nothing true here.
