DailyTech says it has grabbed a new Intel roadmap that reveals details about the company's plans for Merom, the mobile Core 2 Duo. The roadmap shows neither prices nor specifications, but DailyTech has filled in the blanks for this year's chip launches as follows:
| Speed | Cache | Price | |
| Core 2 Duo T7600 | 2.33 GHz | 4 MB | $637 |
| Core 2 Duo T7400 | 2.16 GHz | 4 MB | $423 |
| Core 2 Duo T7200 | 2.0 GHz | 4 MB | $294 |
| Core 2 Duo T5600 | 1.83 GHz | 2 MB | $240 |
| Core 2 Duo T5500 | 1.66 GHz | 2 MB | $209 |
The top four are expected to launch in August, while the roadmap puts off the $209 T5500 until the fourth quarter of this year. All five chips will run on the existing Napa platform that hosts current Core Duo processors, according to the story. Consequently, the first Core 2 Duos will use a 667 MHz front side bus, a good step down from the desktop Core 2 Duo's expected 1066 MHz FSB. In the second quarter of 2007, however, Intel will reportedly introduce the Santa Rosa platform in conjunction with some faster Core 2 Duos with 800 MHz FSBs. Santa Rosa is also expected to bring Robson caching technology and 504Mbps 802.11n Wi-Fi support. Thanks to TR reader David for the tip.
