Logitech has been making gaming mice like its MX518 and the wireless G7 for some time now, but Microsoft has been lagging behind somewhat on the gaming front. Today, Redmond has struck back with a new Habu mouse that is the result of a partnership with Razer, a company that played a large part in popularizing gaming mice. The Habu features seven programmable buttons, interchangeable side button panels, on-the-fly sensitivity adjustments, a 2000 DPI laser engine, and a 16-bit data path with 1000MHz "Ultrapolling" aimed at providing low response times. The new rodent isn't available quite yet, though. Gamers will have to wait until October before being able to get their hands on it.
The Habu isn't Microsoft's only introduction today: Microsoft has also re-introduced its famous IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0. The new version sports a charcoal black look but seems to retain the original's design. It will hit stores one month before the Habu, in September.
